It's been an amazing 5 years of growth for us. We know that everyone is looking for the best promotions for Black Friday, but this year, we wanted to try something new.
Instead of a discount, for every EllieFunDay purchase you make today, 50% of the proceeds will go directly towards improving our non-profit sewing unit in India, where we make our products. With the proceeds, we plan to add solar panels to our sewing unit to continue our effort in sustainability.
Why Solar Panels?
- Reduce Power Usage: By adding solar panels to our partner sewing unit, this provides a power source when they need to produce products, this reduces their dependency on the grid. With the added bonus of the hot Indian sun, they get to leverage natural energy in the easiest way.
- A more consistent power source: India has rolling power outages due to the lack of resources for such a large country. Corruption and lack of infrastructure also is a contributing factor to getting power consistently.
- Reduced Electricity Bills = Giving Back: by reducing their electricity bills, our partner sewing unit can invest back into the education, medical bills and savings component for the women artisans.
